Writer Workout Monthly Membership
Save even more by signing up for the full year here.
Want to write but can’t find the time? Need inspiration and accountability? If the blank page has you blocked, our membership is like a weekly workout for your creativity. Get MFA-level craft talks and creative prompts, then write for 20-30 min. The best part? You're in a network of women writers from all over the world who share resources, industry connections, and encouragement. WW members have published hundreds of pieces!
Most of us have read books on writing or attended writing conferences, but what we most need is time to do the darn thing. It's the same reason why people attend workout classes. We need a designated time each week when someone shows us what to do, then makes us do it. We need the community and the motivation. So here it is.
Here's how it works:
When you sign up for a membership, you'll get a weekly writer workout via Zoom. We’ll meet every Monday at 12 CT for an hour and 15 min. We'll start by stating our goals and brainstorming. Then, we'll either look at a published model of great writing to gain some tools for our toolbox, or I'll lead you through an effective scene development visualization. Then we'll write for 20-30 min. Finally, we'll share our work with each other for the last 10/15 min.
If you're using your lunch time to join us and you have to leave the meeting a little early, no biggie. If you miss any sessions, never fear, I'll always send the recording of the writer workout to the group on Monday evenings so you can do it on your own. Plus, you get access to the replay library that holds all the replays!
Bonus: On the last Monday of every month, we will stay on Zoom for an extra hour (1-2 CT) for a read aloud or a submission fest. For a Read Aloud, you get to read an excerpt of your work to the whole group (like a virtual open-mic!). For a Submission Fest, you'll bring a piece of writing that's polished, and we'll talk about the best sites, magazines, and contests for publication submission. Then you'll spend time crafting the cover letter and doing the actual submitting. Everyone will have submitted to at least one magazine/site by the end of the Zoom session.
Finally, the biggest benefits of the membership: All members get exclusive early sign-up perks and discounts off of select offerings. AND, if you show up consistently to do your work, you'll be entered for giveaway opportunities!
To recap: As a member, you get community, accountability, craft improvement, and publishing support via:
Weekly 75 min Writer Workouts
Access to the Replay Library, with countless video lessons
Monthly Real Aloud or Submission Fest session
Exclusive early sign up to all future classes, coaching, and retreats
Discounts on select offerings
Giveaways for people who show up regularly to do their work
*When you sign up, you will be billed for your first month, and then you will be billed monthly thereafter. Upon sign up, you’re agreeing to a 3-month minimum contract. People rarely leave the group because they love it so much, but if life gets hectic after the 3 months and you need to cancel your membership, you just need to give notice one week before your next auto-deduction. If you cancel your membership and then rejoin the group later, you are subject to updated membership pricing at the time of rejoining.
