Writing our Way Home w/ Heidi Rose Robbins (A Collaborative Master Class)
August 20th, 2024 10AM-12:30PM CT via Zoom
A Master Class with writing coach Nadine Kenney Johnstone and Heidi Rose Robbins
If you can’t make it, you can still sign up, and we’ll send the recording after!
From our co-host, Heidi Rose Robbins:
I always feel better after I’ve spent time on the page. Sometimes I put my hands on the paper for a moment before I even begin to write. Why? I think of my hands as an extension of my heart. And I want my heart on the page. I want the complexity and wisdom of my heart on the page. I want to name what stands in the way of my radiance and I want the radiance itself.
In our time together, I’ll share a few poems I love and tell you a bit about my own writing practice. I will offer you poetry prompts that will help us all write our way home. We’ll experiment with flash poems (written in a minute or two) and poems that unfold slowly through listening to that inner whisper — the whisper that insists we write our present truth. I’ll give you a number of ways IN to beginning a poem and hope that you will leave with pages of possibility. Let’s travel to our heart, heart, home together.
